ITINERARY

Transfer from the hotel to visit Wat Prathat Doi Suthep is the most important and famous temple in Chiang Mai. The tour begins with a pleasant wildly driving up 3,500 feet above sea level to the sacred temple of Doi Suthep. You then ascend up the 306 steps guarded by two splendid Nagas or serpents. Walk around the temple’s ground and enjoy ringing small bells as well as taking photograph of a panoramic view of Chiang Mai city. A five tiered parasols made of gold sat on display in the inner courtyard. Wat Prathat Doi Suthep was built in 1383, is the symbol of Chiang Mai. It is the most sacred temple in the city and contains the holy relic of the Lord Buddha which is enshrined in the magnificent golden pagoda that can be seen for miles around. Lunch at the restaurant.
Visit Chiang Mai Zoo, one of the most popular zoos in Thailand because of the Giant Pandas from China. Take a tram to explore around the zoo to visit different types of animal including pandas and the baby. Then head to Sankampaeng, a heart of the Handicraft Industry. Many of Thailand's major producers are located here with lots of traditional art works along Chiang Mai - Sankamphang Road to see quality local authentic artisans making teak-wood carvings, intricate silverware, lustrous black lacquer ware, high-fired ceramics, famous Thai silk and cotton being. Transfer back to the hotel.
